V0.01 - Desktop and Recording Software

(Deadline - 11.99pm GMT 31st December 2025)

Why am I doing this?

So, as a kid did you ever like, sweat the shit out of YouTube simulators? There was something so satisfying about wasting your time clicking away, trying to find the best strat to grind out them sweet sweet numbers in whatever janky solo flash project you were playing. Well I did and it gave me some very fond memories. But since the great purge of flash games, unfortunately I haven't been able to find those games, and there they remain, trapped in memory.

I've noticed especially that the production of YouTube management games have kind of fizzled out (probably due to TikTok). So to recapture my youth and relive those fond memories, I decided it's about time I make YouTubeSim25.

So first we have to lay the groundwork. We have a main menu with multiple "apps" you can run. We have YouTube for viewing stats and customizing your channel, Video Capture to record a video, Video Editor, Upload, Shop and Game Settings. Its pretty self explanatory in what I'm planning to put in them but at the moment the only one that has anything in it is the video capture.

In the Video Capture software you can: select the amount of days to record for, start making the recording and see your video files. Recording doesn't cost any money (like irl) but for each day you record you get charged for each day's living expense (being at the moment £1 per day). However the more days you invest in a recording, the higher chance you have to make the recording better quality, obviously resulting in more views. There is a current file cap of 5 recordings at a time although I'm planning to make the amount of file size you have upgradeable in the shop. And then when you're done with that, you just hit that big ol back button and it takes you back to the menu.
